Alumni & Supporters
The strength and continuity of Kent School Boat Club are inseparable from the engagement of its alumni, parents, and supporters. For more than a century, KSBC has benefited from a community that remains closely connected to the program long after graduation, contributing time, expertise, and stewardship to ensure that rowing at Kent continues to thrive.

Alumni and supporters play an essential role in sustaining the standards, traditions, and opportunities that define the program. Whether through mentorship, event participation, or support of the endowment, this broader community helps ensure that future generations of Kent rowers inherit a program that is both historically grounded and forward-looking.

KSBC’s alumni network spans decades and geographies, but it remains unified by a shared experience and a lasting sense of responsibility to the program. This page outlines the ways alumni and supporters can stay connected, participate in events, and contribute to the long-term strength of Kent rowing.

100 Years at Henley in 2027
The year 2027 will mark a significant milestone in the history of Kent School Boat Club: one hundred years since Kent became the first American secondary school to compete at Henley Royal Regatta.
That initial appearance in 1927 established a lasting connection between Kent rowing and one of the sport’s most storied stages. Over the decades, Kent crews have returned to Henley many times, earning international respect and contributing to a defining chapter of the program’s competitive legacy.

KSBC is actively planning ways to commemorate this centennial moment. While details are still being developed, the goal is to recognize both the historical significance of Kent’s Henley tradition and the generations of rowers, coaches, and supporters who have sustained it.
Plans may include:

-
Alumni and supporter gatherings connected to Henley events
-
Historical recognition and storytelling
-
Opportunities to engage the broader KSBC community around this milestone
Alumni and supporters who are interested in participating in planning efforts, attending events, or supporting this initiative are encouraged to get in touch. The centennial at Henley represents not only a look back, but an opportunity to invest in the future of Kent rowing.
Alumni & Supporter Events
KSBC hosts a range of alumni and supporter gatherings throughout the year, designed to bring the community together in meaningful and accessible ways. These events provide opportunities to reconnect with classmates and teammates, engage with current families and coaches, and remain connected to the life of the program.

Planned and recurring gatherings include:
-
Alumni and supporter events held in conjunction with major regattas
-
Regional receptions and informal meetups
-
On-campus events aligned with racing weekends and school milestones
In the coming year, the program is planning:
-
A New York City gathering in Spring 2026
-
A continued alumni and supporter presence at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Fall 2026
-
Additional regional gatherings, organized in collaboration with alumni hosts
Event details will be shared as plans are finalized. Alumni and supporters interested in helping to host or organize events are encouraged to reach out, as many gatherings are made possible through volunteer leadership.
